Well we had really studies all the features and now we were ready to buy the best washing machine. The very next morning, off we went to the shops. We were really looking forward to it now as we felt we really knew our subject! We had a good look round and compared all the pluses and minuses of al the models we saw – we really tried not to let price have that much affect on us at this time. We had chosen a shop where we knew from experience that prices were fair and that very importantly we had lots ot choose from.
When we had looked round well we narrowed it down to a handful of machines. My sister had by this time decided that she wanted a best washing machine – she had thought about during the previous evening and really felt that for her there were a lot of advantages. Once we looked at the prices however, she was surprised to see how much cheaper the top loaders were.
She nearly got swayed by a GE washing machine that was a steam washer. We had not really considered one of these and the salesman told us that they were great for removing stains and also for taking the creases out of clothes. I thought for a few minutes that she was going to be swayed by this feature which she had not even considered the day before and I also noticed that despite what she had said about not getting a designer colour, she was taken by its wonderful red colour and I could see the attractions. In the end at it was too expensive and she reluctantly dismissed it.
The salesman had also explained the different tubs available, something else we had not previously considered. He told us that plastic tubs were the cheapest and were usually found on the cheaper models. Porcelain enamel he told us was prone to chips and rusting and then the most expensive was stainless steel which was very durable.
We next looked at two Bosch washing machines – the Nexxt 300 and the Nexxt 800. They looked like good machines and had many of the features we had chosen. Also they were stackable which my sister liked as she was beginning to want a dryer more and more. However when we looked at the prices of both of them, again they were more expensive than we had hoped. We were now wondering if maybe the budget would have to be increased and again, I think my sister was governed by her hope of getting a dryer before too long.
We moved round the shop to some Frigidaire washing machines we had seen earlier. They had some really good water and energy saving levels and we found out that they were made by Electrolux which was a big plus as knew we were dealing with a huge washing machine deals manufacturer here. The cheaper one was a Frigidaire Gallery and was priced at half the price of the other machines we had been drawn to.
The other machine was a little more expensive but just about spot on to the planned budget. It was a Frigidaire Affinity, It has all the agreed features such as an automatic washing machines temperature control and an extra rinse facility – also it has a good capacity and is known for its gentleness. The controls are a rotary dial and push buttons that should ensure fairly simple procedures to operate it. Its wash cycle is 55 minutes so that was very good and it has a stainless steel tub. It is a good looking machine and the salesman told us that it is stackable – my sister’s face lit up – and she could have it in a gorgeous red if she wanted – I have never seen her so excited about a washing machine – we had really enjoyed buying the best washing machine for my sister!
